At MMS 2011 in Las Vegas, the next version of Opalis was announced.

The product is called "System Center Orchestrator 2012"

Adam Hall has published a first look of this which gives a good overview of what to expect!

I am really exited about

  • No More Java based operators console, next version is Silverlight! which means it is run in IIS instead of java web server.
  • New Web Service based on the OData protocol! enabling us to develop apps , excel sheets or similar, using live data from orchestrator
  • PowerShell cmdlets and PS Drive Provider. enabling us to navigate the orchestrator server in the same way as our other drives.
