When users start Outlook 2007 for the first time they might be presented with this dialog box:
To disable the dialog box you need to make a modification to the registry. I normally add the registry entry to the Office Customization Toolkit (OCT) like this:
How to disable the setting in registry:
- Open registry and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Options\General
- Add a new entry (reg_sz) with the name PONT_STRING Modify the value to "60"
- Export the registry entry from the File menu
How to disable the setting in OCT:
-
Start Office Customization Toolkit OCT by running setup.exe /admin
-
Navigate to Add registry changes
-
Save the MSP file and it is ready for distribution
nice trick, thanks a lot.
regards.
Thank you so much!!!
Searching for a while for this solution and was about to give up!
Or you can set the property feature -> Modify user settings -> MS office outlook 2007 -> tools|options -> prefs -> search options -> prevent prompt… -> enabled.
very helpful. thank you!
This tip is outstanding. Makes deployment of OFC2k7 a much easier process on terminal server, since the Desktop Search popup caused calls everytime it appears. Follow the steps to the T and make sure you have the latest version of the OCT installed before you do this. Excellent article.
My programmer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from
PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses.
But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using WordPress on numerous websites for about a year and am anxious about switching to another platform.
I have heard good things about blogengine.net.
Is there a way I can import all my wordpress content into it?
Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!
